Val,

Although reading this was one of my distractions today, I am glad I did. Sometimes we need a swift kick....I mean a reminder that doing what is important first, and taking care of the rest later, will not only help us achieve our goals and a sense of accomplishment, but help us to learn to allow good things for ourselves. I get in my own way too often.

Hi Val,

I totally agree with you. Focus can be trained and enhanced. Your tips here are great because it will totally keep distractions from learning things that require full attention. Reading for several minutes without diverting the attention can be a great start. They can increase the number of minutes with training or practice until it will not require any effort. Great entry!

Guilty as charged, Val...of multi-tasking too much! You bring up several important points in this post, but the one for me that really hits home is teaching myself the habit of focusing on one task at a time, rather than trying to tackle several at once. I have noticed that when I slow down enough to give my attention to one thing at a time, the results are often better. Also, choosing what we put into our minds is critical if we truly want to succeed. Garbage in = garbage out as the old saying goes! Great post, Val!

This is excellent, and really critical information, Val.

It's really paramount that we learn to focus on those things we want to bring into our lives. Choose what you will bring into your attention and let everything else go. That's the only way you will keep your life moving in the way you intend, instead of the way you are imposed upon.

Thanks, Val. I really enjoyed reading this article.

I've even begun closing my garage door and locking the walk-in door so that people think I'm away. This way I have a few hours to write without interruption. It's heaven.

Thanks, Michaele, for your perspective on the relevance of just choosing to ignore some of the drama. When we seek to live a life of peace, often the crisis craze fades away.

Thanks, David, for taking time to comment on this post. When we seek abundance in our life, something else needs to go away to create a place for the prosperity. If it is actions of our ego that go away, the space for abundance is bigger.
